Previously I talked about my jobs on a general basis, however I am going to go into more detail on one of my most favorite jobs and how it really helped me as a person. Overall, out of all the jobs I have worked, the one that I would look most forward to going to was the animal shelter that was 20 miles away from my home, but it was 100% worth it. This job was incredibly stressful to drive to because it was all the way in New Jersey and I would typically work around night, so that is the time for all the traffic, worrying about the Burlington Bristol Bridge going up and me running late, the slow Jersey drivers on the open roads, and all the pointless roundabouts. However, getting to the job would cause me to get over all the stress of getting to the job. I would get there, and it would just be myself and 50 plus other dogs. I loved every minute of it. Even though the job was cleaning up after the dogs and hearing them bark most of the time while being there, it gave me peace of mind, and made me realize this is really what I loved doing. When I got there, I would think of nothing else and would just be happy. There would be times when I would just stay there all night because I would hate leaving the animals, and if you were wondering the owners of the shelter were very laid back so my hours were not varied, so I could come and go whenever I would like. I even grew attached to a few of the dogs there that I would hate when some would get adopted, however, I ended up bringing some home, which was bound to happen with me, but I am a strong believer that you can never have too many animals. However, my point here is that if you are not happy with what you are doing now, you should do so, it is not worth it to stay at a job that stresses you out and you just go there for money. Like even if the job you love does not make a lot of money, this is still your happiness, and if you are not doing that for yourself then what really is the point of anything? Even though this job was far and did not pay much, the time would fly by, causing me to never want to leave, and it overall just felt like a safe place. Even though I am not going to stay here forever, it helped me confirm that I do want to pursue a career working with animals because I realized that is what makes me the happiest.

Hello, to start this off I am just going to talk about how I grew to love animals more than people. This starts with the fact that I...

I have a shelter dog, she's a corgi/eskimo mix! I can absolutely understand what you mean about feeling lastingly happy with that job too, even the mundane parts. Working with animals just has a very serotonin-inducing effect. I've played with shelter animals and spent time cleaning after horses. Both the fun and less fun aspects of that work always feel rewarding :3

I think I am the fastest New Jersey driver...but I agree with the roundabouts. I agree, working a job that fulfills you is very important! Cute dog!
